San Luis Ambulance Service now serves the population in Southern San Luis Obispo County. 

As of June 1, 2000 SLAS began serving the Southern Five Cities.  These new areas include two units serving the five cities areas of Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Grover Beach, Arroyo Grande and Oceano.  An additional unit is stationed in Nipomo serving the community of Nipomo and the surrounding rural areas.

Included in this service are some specialized service areas.  First is mutual aid service for Northern Santa Barbara County.  Second is the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Area.  The dunes will be served with a custom built four wheel drive ambulance stationed out of the Arroyo Grande Station.
